Opportunity Overview
The Paula Barr Foundation is excited to announce the newly created PBF Education Program, launching Fall 2026. Through Teaching Artist led workshops, this program invites working artists to develop their craft and enrich their connections with New York’s artistic community. Supported by PBF volunteers, Teaching Artists will serve as a lead instructor through a personally developed workshop; leaving participants with a heightened sense of skill, understanding, and creativity within their craft.
The Teaching Artist position is open to visual artists and photographers who carry:
A demonstrated ability to lead professional development for adults
A passion for advancing the skills of others
A commitment to New York’s working artists
Teaching Artists will be asked to create a one-off workshop that can be delivered twice; once virtually and once in-person. Teaching Artists will be compensated $150 per workshop occurrence, which includes a 1-hr meeting with the PBF team to review workshop content and a 15-minute debrief upon completion of the workshop.
Eligibility
Must be legally allowed to work in the United States
Must be actively working in New York City
Must have a background in providing professional development and/or learning seminars to adult learners
